A total of nine young girls have made sexual assault allegations against a coach who is charged with molesting two of them, authorities said yesterday.
Burlington County Prosecutor Stephen G. Raymond said seven more victims have come forward since sexual assault charges were announced last week against Richard A. Gibbs.
Gibbs, 45, of Medford, who coached for the Medford Township Youth Athletic Association, was charged Friday with sexually assaulting two Medford girls between 10 and 12 years old. Since his arrest, seven additional girls have alleged they were sexually assaulted by Gibbs and shown nude photographs, Raymond said. Investigators are interviewing the alleged victims, he said.
Gibbs took the girls to the nude beach at the Sandy Hook unit of Gateway National Recreation Area, where they were asked to take off their clothes, authorities said.
