Last night Nikki Dare Jones wrote to me and asked me to visit her FB page and see what I thought of this spammer abuser who had come on her page harassing her. What follows is the conversation that ensued. Until today we had no idea who we were dealing with other than an obnoxious individual. Now we know this is a concerted effort on his behalf. Because of the systematic nature of his abuse he could be an ill individual, or this could be concerted and organized sabotage of animal rights activists from either the government or pro-animal abuse entities. It has to be considered. This page documents a prime example of his tactic to attempt to delegitimize animal rescuers with his false accusations and insinuations, along with his focus on women and his general denseness. I am posting it here because there have been several groups set up asking people to document their interactions with him. FRIENDS MUST READ!! Here is his group where is lists animal rescuers using fraudulent information and accusations. Dog Interpol He write: "Trying to weed out questionable characters that use Rescue as a front to steal money! If you know of a fraud or suspect one you can post or send me the information to check out and post." However Ed Bertolas: is the most questionable character I have seen since I got involved in this last night. He posts money making spam on these fb people he friends as well. Attached is the graphic from Ed Bertolas's twitter page (which has been open just over one month) with a link to his http://www.dogrunclub.com/ where he connects people in the same zip codes to others with the same breeds. It's called "speed dating for dogs". The website says "an email will be sent to all other owners with the same breed in your area." It's done under the guise of fun. However since when do dogs need to be the same breed to play with each other? Why aren't these dogs categorized small, medium and large? Why connect dogs according to breed except to connect breeders? Maybe others can figure this out because I can't. Or perhaps another is for a mass marketer, who has just been on twitter for a little over one month, and an abusive stalker type to collect email addresses on other people? He says at the bottom that he will protect people's privacy however why would anyone want to give this guy an email address? On this website, posted below, you will see in the reproduced FB convo where he offered to buy a woman, a total stranger on FB a 20.00 camcorder (cheap at that) so he could spy on her and her dogs, he said "for no reason". He is not law enforcement and she had broken no laws. This guy doesn't understand even the vaguest concept of privacy. Besides 90 percent of the entries on his dogrun page is mass marketing spam for free iphones. Proceed with caution giving this guy any real email address. —Nikki Craft January 30, 2011, 
Even if Bertolas meant that he wants to stop dog resue "fraud" he is not doing that; on facebook he is clearly trying to shut down dog rescue when he says "you're all frauds". WARNING Ed Bertolas is using phishing maleware. He will post a link to his page or in your email that leads to a page that looks exactly like your facebook login page and if you delete his email address and put your password in he can take over your account. Be very careful anytime you get a link not to feed your password in even if the link looks like Facebook is asking you to enter it. This is illegal and he can have his facebook account cancelled for doing this. Report his account and if you see any example of phishing report it immediately to FB and the cops.
UPDATE 02.02.11—My account, after being on Facebook for several years, has just been disabled because of work related to sharing information about Ed Bertolas and another creep Michael McDade. I believe this is due at least partly to complaints by Ed Bertolas. If you want to help please get this word and these urls out on FB.
